Harry Potter

I have been reading Harry Potter. I haven't made a post about it until now, but I have read the first, second, third, and fourth books. Right now I am reading The Order of the Phoenix (the fifth book). My favorite book out of the four books is The Prisoner of Azkaban, because it had a great ending. I have been taking AR tests on these books at school. My goal is to read all seven of them this school year. My AR goal for the year is 100 points, and I am already up to 80 points.

These are the books, in case you haven't read them:

Lego Batman

Today I got the new Lego Batman video game because I got good grades on my report card (straight A's!) I got to play a little, even though it is a school night. So far, it is fun, really fun. I have fought Mr. Freeze, Two-Face, and Clayface. On the level I am on right now, I will have to fight Poison Ivy. Some of the new features on this game are costumes that help you. For example, Robin has a magnet suit so he can climb up metal walls. When you fight, your enemies can get knocked airborne. You get a boomerang, and mines (mines are for costumes).

Teachers Vs. Students

Today was the annual Teacher Vs. Students kickball game at my school. The PTA raises money by selling roster slots to students, who take on the teachers in a kickball game. This year, not many teachers could play, but they still beat us. Last year, the students won handily. I got to bat/kick lead-off, and also pitched in the first inning because I signed up first. We played five innings. I got on base every time, but never scored a run. It was fun, though, even if we lost.

This is how my team chose a pitcher. They fought each other for the ball. Then one of the teachers said I was the pitcher.
This is me on second the first time I kicked. Mrs. Bowen is a fifth grade teacher. She missed two easy outs because she dropped the ball. One time her sunglasses fell off.
This is me kicking.
This is Mrs. Scott. She is a really cool fourth grade teacher.
This is Mr. J. He was my second grade teacher, and now he teaches fourth grade. He is really cool. He is also very good at kickball.
This is me kicking the ball the second time. I kicked twice. I laid down a sweet bunt.

A Galaxy Victory!

My soccer team The Galaxy beat The Sabretooths 4-2. It was a great game. I played the whole time, and made two really good defensive plays. Mom was really excited for me. On one play, I outran a big kid and took the ball from him, then I passed it down field to one of our players and he scored. I left the other player laying there. Mom called Dad to tell him about it, it was so cool.
This is me throwing the ball in. I had to throw the ball in a lot.
I'm #13. We're still using last year's uniforms. When we get this year's uniforms, I will be #2.
I'm down field, mixing it up.
This is my team in the post-game meeting. I am sitting on my soccer ball, with my back against the fence, eating a cakester. I don't know what the girl with the thermos is doing.
This is Coach T. He is cool. He is a really fun coach. His son "Deuce" is on our team. He kicks the ball really hard.

Wipeout

We have a new favorite show: Wipeout. It comes on ABC on Tuesdays at 8:00. You should watch it. It's hilarious. People do those most hardest, dumbest obstacles ever. And they fall down a lot, which is why it's so funny. If you win Wipeout, you get fifty thousand dollars. There's always an obstacle on the first course called Sucker Punch. You walk down a wall with holes that have boxing gloves in them. The gloves shoot out randomly and you try not to get sucker-punched. The thing that makes it hard is that the wall has a very small ledge to walk on and it's hard to stay on. Sometimes, the ones that are low trip you. Mom likes the big balls. There are these big red balls that people have to bounce across. People always wipe out on the big balls. Watch Wipeout. You'll laugh your head off. You can go to youtube and search on Wipeout - they have some funny episodes.

New Backpack

I ordered a new backpack last night. School starts back next Wednesday (for me, Ben goes back in August). Nana got me my first backpack five years ago, right before I started kindergarten. Thanks, Nana - it was a great backpack.

But now I will have the Featherlight backpack. I got True Navy. I got my initials and a soccer ball embroidered on the front. I can't wait till it gets here!

Ben ordered one too - he got the Multi-tasker in Garnet. He also got his initials, but he got a baseball on his. He has used his backpack from Nana for 6 years! It was worn OUT. This is Ben's:

The Incredible Hulk

We went to see The Incredible Hulk on Father's Day. I forgot to make a post about it. Just like on Mother's Day, when we went to see Iron Man. Hulk was AWESOME. My favorite part was Hulk versus the Abomination. The Abomination was gross. At the end, you discover Hulk's blood was green.

Rock Band!

Ben and I pooled our money and bought the game Rock Band for the Wii. It was a special edition, which means we got drums. I like playing the drums. We've played Enter Sandman, Mississippi Queen, Roxanne, and 29 Fingers. Ben plays guitar. We can also use a microphone for singing. (There is a picture of the microphone above.) Now we just need Uncle Paul to come up and jam with us. Please Uncle Paul - come jam with us!!!!

New TV!

We got a new TV on Saturday. Right now, it is not getting cable, but we can watch DVDs and play video games. The Wii is in our basement, so we put the playstation on the new TV. The screen is bigger than I thought it would be. The remotes are nice. Uncle Craig is going to build us a TV stand. Right now, it is on the coffee table.

Second Day in New York

I saw this in the Museum of Natural History. It's a whale eating a giant squid. In the museum, it was too dark too see, but we could see it with the camera flash. We don't think it was open yet, but it was still cool. I had to go to the bathroom twice. It was a great museum. I didn't see the little cowboy men from Night at the Museum, but we did see the T-Rex.

Lego Indiana Jones

The new Lego Indiana Jones video game comes out on June 3. I started getting excited about it when I got Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga:

It has levels from every Star Wars movie - six levels for each movie. It is AWESOME. I hope the Indiana Jones game is even better - it has levels from the first three movies, not the fourth one. We'll be on vacation when it comes out, but I'll let you know how cool it is when I get back.

There is also a Lego Batman game coming out in September:

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

We went to see the new Indiana Jones movie today. It was good. Best of them all. My second favorite is The Last Crusade. Third is Raiders of the Lost Ark. And last, but not least, The Temple of Doom. I would have liked that one better if it wasn't for that annoying Willie person.

The Crystal Skull had some wicked cool fire ants. My favorite part was the battle in the jungle.

Go see Indy Four.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian

Prince Caspian starts tomorrow! Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy. The first Narnia movie was awesome. Awesome! I hope this one is too. I don't know when I'll get to see it, but I will see it soon. I will also see the the new Indiana Jones movie soon. There are lots of movies out this summer that I can't wait to see.

My Favorite Video Game

Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii. It rocks. You can play in brawl mode, and pick a Wii character (like Mario or Link or Luigi) and fight another Wii character. In adventure mode, you fight boss monsters and these monsters called primids. You need a Wii remote and nunchuck to play. It's pure action. That's why I like it.

Ben's Bonehead Play

Today it was thunderstorming. Ben decided to go outside and play. When he came in, he looked like he had taken a shower with his clothes on. Mom was very mad. I told him I had made a brand new blog, but Mom wouldn't let him get on the carpet to see it. She made him dry off and change clothes. I sure hope he never makes another play like that again.

Iron Man

Today I went to the movies to see Iron Man for Mother's Day. It was a really good movie, although I had to use the bathroom twice. My favorite part was the big fight at the end. Iron Man is cool. Mom liked it a lot too, and that's good because it was part of her Mother's Day gift. You should go see Iron Man.

Here I Am

Welcome to my new blog. Please visit me and comment often. Thanks.
